Born in the tiny rural village of Johnswell County Kilkenny, Rosanna Lyons grew up in Eire (Republic of Ireland). Rosanna studied fine art painting at the Limerick College of Art and Design. Her strong design sense and natural understanding of color and composition helped to make her paintings stand apart. They showed a personal approach to the human figure and an uncommon style in portraiture. Recognizing her exceptional ability, Rosanna was recruited by Sullivan Bluth Studios. The American animation company had relocated from Los Angeles to Dublin and it was Rosanna's strong life drawing skills that won her the position. Rosanna went on to create artwork for Steven Speilberg's Amblin/Universal Studios, London England and Disney Feature Animation, Paris France. She moved to Los Angeles, California in 1995, where she worked for Dreamworks SKG. At these various studios she was a contributing artist to a number of successful, internationally acclaimed full length feature films. Rosanna Lyons has been commissioned to paint portraits, still life works and murals. She works in oils and acrylics - on canvas, board and plaster. Her showings have been at small personal galleries and salons. While Rosanna conveys a classical and notably Renaissance style in her work, she also utilizes a fresh personal approach in her painting and sketches. Her nude studies communicate on a modern level, using bold colors and exaggerating the form. The result is exciting, while at the same time analytical and mysterious. At present, Rosanna works out of her studio in Los Angeles, California. |
